Hyundai Exter Facelift Spied: Possible Space and Practicality Upgrades

Minor Exterior Updates, Possible Transmission Upgrade

A camouflaged Hyundai Exter facelift has been spotted testing on Indian roads, hinting at an update that could arrive in the near future. While the overall silhouette remains familiar, the facelift is expected to bring a mix of cosmetic tweaks and feature enhancements. There are also indications that Hyundai may improve cabin space and overall practicality.

From what’s visible under the camouflage, the most noticeable change so far is a new set of alloy wheels. Since both the front and rear sections are heavily wrapped, a revised grille, updated tail-lamps and a redesigned rear spoiler are expected once the covers come off.

Bigger changes are likely to be inside the cabin. The updated Exter could receive a dual-pane sunroof, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, a driver-side armrest and split-folding rear seats, making the compact SUV more comfortable and versatile for daily use.

Under the hood, the Exter facelift is expected to retain the current powertrain options. These include the 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 82 bhp and 114 Nm, available with manual and AMT gearboxes, along with the CNG version that makes 68 bhp and 95.2 Nm paired with a 5-speed manual. Hyundai may also introduce a new CNG + AMT combination, helping the Exter stay competitive in the sub-compact SUV segment.

The Hyundai Exter is currently priced from ₹5.74 lakh (ex-showroom), and the facelift is likely to carry a slight premium over the outgoing model.
